Welcome to day one of the Harlequin’s Winter 2019 Christmas tour 12 Days of Christmas!
For the first stop on the tour, I’m bringing you A Wedding in December by Sarah Morgan. This one has been EVERYWHERE and I’ve been so excited to read it. And it was SUCH a delight!
This story was a really unique format that I enjoyed very much. Told from 3 POV’s – a mother and her two daughters – each is struggling or questioning love. Old love, new love, or if love is even worth it!
This funny, charming and heartwarming new Christmas novel is USA TODAY bestselling author Sarah Morgan at her festive best!
The White family Christmas is about to be completely turned upside down. Their cozy London traditional family holiday in their PJs around the cottage fire isn’t happening this year.
Maggie and Nick have been living apart for months and still haven’t told their daughters. And when Rosie announces she’s getting married to someone she barely knows, ON Christmas, IN Colorado, it’s shaping up to be a holiday they will never forget.
Katie is determined to stop her sisters wedding. Always the protector, she knows Rosie is rushing into things and is pretty skeptical about true love as it is.
Maggie convinces Nick to pretend like everything is fine. The last thing the girls need is a surprise divorce announcement on Christmas – or AT the wedding.
And sweet naive Rosie is so in love with Dan and his family – but is she making the right decision? Are her parents really the marriage to look up to?
“Morgan’s gentle, humorous aesthetic will leave readers feeling optimistic and satisfied!” – Publishers Weekly
I loved the family dynamic in this! The relationships – husband and wife, sisters, new love and old love – were all fun and refreshing. The banter between Katie and the best man was also snarky and silly and I enjoyed the two batting at each other back and forth.
It was interesting flip flopping between each woman’s perspective on love. They are literally spending the holidays in a warm and cozy romantic winter wonderland and it was so fun to watch each character grow and change.
I rooted for Nick and Maggie to work it out. A second honeymoon may just be what Santa ordered. I hoped that Rosie was making the right decisions and not jumping into love too fast. And I wished love for Katie – skeptical and cynical and so closed off, always putting others first.
A super heartwarming read. A lovely story with real and approachable characters. The perfect start to dive into the season and get into the holiday spirit!

About the book:
In the snowy perfection of Aspen, the White family gathers for youngest daughter Rosie’s whirlwind Christmas wedding. First to arrive are the bride’s parents, Maggie and Nick. Their daughter’s marriage is a milestone they are determined to celebrate wholeheartedly, but they are hiding a huge secret of their own: they are on the brink of divorce. After living apart for the last six months, the last thing they need is to be trapped together in an irresistibly romantic winter wonderland.
Rosie’s older sister, Katie, is also dreading the wedding. Worried that impulsive, sweet-hearted Rosie is making a mistake, Katie is determined to save her sister from herself! If only the irritatingly good-looking best man, Jordan, would stop interfering with her plans…
Bride-to-be Rosie loves her fiancé but is having serious second thoughts. Except everyone has arrived—how can she tell them she’s not sure? As the big day gets closer, and emotions run even higher, this is one White family Christmas none of them will ever forget!
