Do you have a favorite plant?
I love maiden hair ferns and Japanese toad lilies!
We’ve been slowly curating our garden to attract more butterflies and hummingbirds just like Goldie in this book, so I loved her most in this story! The plants pictured in my photo are all from my garden. 🥰
“A story world so completely alive with the characters so real, I can feel them breathing behind me.”
—Caroline Leavitt, New York Times best-selling author of Pictures of You and Is This Tomorrow
3 womens lives intersect in The Sound of Wings:
Goldie, an aging artist who is hearing voices in her head, secrets from her past;
Jocelyn, a writer, who is in the midst of a custody battle over her son, and writing her next book;
and Krystal, struggling to accept if this new married glamorous life is for her, and if her dysfunctional childhood still has to define her.
I thought this story was so endearing and I loved that it was set in Cape May, NJ – a gorgeous beach town I travel to often!
The story is intricately crafted with beautiful themes of friendship, love, and has a curious mystery that definitely had me on the verge of tears at the bittersweet, but hopeful ending.
I adored all the plant themes woven throughout, the bit of mystery with a shocking twist, and most importantly, the strong bonds of female friendship.

About the Book:

Seventy-year-old Goldie Sparrows faces declining finances, questionable health, and a late husband who torments her from the beyond. She seeks refuge in her butterfly garden, which is filled with voices and memories from long ago.
Jocelyn Anderson is a struggling writer who finds escape from her custody battle in the journal of her late mother-in-law. As she gets pulled through the pages of time, Jocelyn discovers her own husband has a hidden history she knows nothing about. Is this secret now Jocelyn’s to keep?
Krystal Axelrod is living a life she never dreamed she could have. And yet the demons of a dysfunctional childhood and mean girl culture from her cheerleading days cast their shadow over her ability to feel whole, capable, and worthy. Does Goldie hold the key to Krystal’s path to freedom?
A masterfully crafted tale of love, friendship, betrayal, and the risks we take in the pursuit of justice.
About the Author:

My literary fiction explores the many layers of human nature. This journey of sketching characters and creating plots from the ocean of my life experiences and imagination, leads me to a place of deep gratitude, healing, and self-discovery.
I love Frangipani and Mango trees. Among the smaller ones, my favourites are crown of thorns and Bougainvillea
